Our research group developed and validated the e-Kayak System, a unique, wireless, multichannel Data Acquisition (DAQ) platform. This tool simultaneously measures all the parameters involved in kayak propulsion, specifically dynamic forces (including forces acting on the paddle and footrest) and kinematic parameters (including stroke frequency, displacement, velocity, acceleration, roll, yaw, pitch, and trim of the boat) under real-world conditions, providing fundamental insights into sprint kayaking performance. The application and analysis of data collected via the e-Kayak System have yielded fundamental findings, which are summarized in our key publications below:
