Our research group has pioneered the integration of advanced sensor technology and Artificial Intelligence into tennis performance analysis. We have developed and validated innovative multi-modal assessment tools, ranging from Machine Learning-based acoustic detection systems for precise timing and rhythm analysis to wearable inertial measurement units (IMUs) for tracking trunk kinematics during serves and groundstrokes. This comprehensive approach allows us to objectively measure critical parameters—such as executive timing, ball speed, dynamic body angles, and metabolic effort—and evaluate the biomechanical efficiency of different technical stances (Square vs. Open). Furthermore, our research extends to injury prevention and functional recovery protocols, offering a holistic, data-driven perspective on the modern tennis player, as detailed in our key publications below:
